“The CLP government proudly announces that even more of our people will be jailed,” he said.

Well yeah, they’re committing crimes and people in NT are fed up, hence why they voted for the CLP

Crime rates in the territory have increased over the past decade, with some offences reaching record levels in 2023.

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-08-13/crime-dominates-northern-territory-political-debate/104193316

A certain demographic has also ruined one of the few things the NT has going for it

Alice Springs’ reputation as a tourist destination has been overshadowed by crime and antisocial behaviour that has been plaguing the region for several years.

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-05-24/call-for-tourism-package-rebrand-troubled-alice-springs/103869390

This happened over 8 years of the Labor state government in NT and based on this:

    https://australianpolitics.com/states/table-of-australian-governments/

They’ve been in power all but 4 years since 2002.

“Our children and their children’s children cannot be living in fear.”

Why not? It sounds like good vibes and whatever you were doing before wasn’t working, if whatever you were doing before worked you wouldn’t be in this situation to begin with

Maybe instead of asking the federal government to ask the CLP to go easier on criminals he should turn around and focus on his own local community ?

“Tough on crime” has always been political theatre. There’s been so many studies on this it’s not even funny.

You don’t solve crime by jailing a bunch of people.

Just look at the USA, crime rate through the roof compared to Australia, yet they are the 5th most incarcerated people on the planet by capita and largest by total amount.

Tough on crime doesn’t work, it’s only to dupe people into re-electing politicians with no better policies.

And blocked because considering your views I don’t need your voice to join the many (less racist) voices in my head.

It’s pretty much just this guy. Post anything about first nations and there’s a high probability he’ll show up.

That’s definitely not true, it has to be X OR Y AND special pleading

The funny thing is that I realised after his second comment I’ve already had this argument with him like a year ago where he said something very similar, something about him linking my avatar and 4chan is what made me remember because I’ve never linked it to 4chan, I just think it’s hilarious

He’s also super heavy on banning anyone who disagrees with him: https://aussie.zone/post/23284861

He then came over to my little world news sub and posted 2 articles on aboriginals

However I don’t think he got the reaction he wanted because I didn’t ban him or remove the posts, I simply prefer people to argue the point not yell RACIST!!! which has no real impact on me as I’ve been arguing on line for years

I mean especially here, if you call someone a fascist or Nazi (as I’ve been called that here approximately 4 billion times more than I’ve ever been called in my 30 years online) being called a racist in comparison is water off a ducks back… or is being a racist worse than being a nazi ?

Funny how that works as in my 30 years of being online, I’ve never been called a racist or a nazi.

Guess people are really good at pegging you.
