They hunted us for sport, and if the laws change tomorrow they’ll turn their guns and torture implements on us without hesitation.

But now they’re marching in uniform because… why exactly? Their feelings get hurt if we don’t slavishly worship them for the monopoly on violence we are forced to accept?

You really don’t know the history within the forces or are you being obtuse?

It’s the biggest mardi gras and biggest gay festival in the world. Pretty sure the cops who want to march are doing it to show the bad cops they exist and won’t be intimidated. The fact they have jobs at all is amazing, decades ago they wouldn’t have been let in or harassed to death.

Let them make a stand for the right to exist within the forces

They can show up without the tools they used to persecute us. Marching as police, in uniform, with all their accoutrements of violence necessarily places them in conflict.

Unless of course every cop marching would side with lgbt people over the state if and when the state changes its mind over whether we are allowed to exist.

Exactly. I don’t feel like it’s my fight, but there are thousands of police officers and they’re just people. They don’t all have the same views.
