Oh neat! I’ve never heard them referred to as “beef” veins but I’ve seen them all over the US SW. Mostly gypsum and calcite in sandstone. I specifically remember a site in Utah where we followed the parallel calcite veins of a bed and they graded into boxwork in a calcareous sandstone.
Super cool seeing the parallels!
But girls are gross! We can’t let our city streets and parks be sissies!
