Not everyone identifies as binary, so they makes it better for everyone
Not everyone is willing to come out and reveal their identity, especially at workplace, so why only use correct term with those who reveal themselves. It is not relevant at work, in fact it may lead to biases
Specific pronouns do increase cognitive overload for everyone. Imagine trying to remember not only names but also pronouns of 100s of colleagues and friends. Linkedin has started adding pronouns? If you forget, someone will get offended.
Now even conferences are manufacturing pronouns pins. These pins get discarded and this just causes more waste
\They\ is just simpler and better for everyone. I think we can even start to eliminate \he\ and \she\ to make more inclusive society.
completely new unproven paradigm would have low chance of actually working, so we are not trying that.
The site is primarily like reddit or lemmy but with different way of doing business, technology, features.
We are building one since almost 10 months. It is just a week or two away from feature completion of v1. Hope to launch it soon. We have some innovation baked in and some coming later.

Its not just growth to monetization, its next stage of 20% profit growth year after year, in this case in the end, sooner or later, one way or another, companies end up having to do bad things. So most companies end up doing bad things and society has to live with largely bad companies.
I wish there was a better way.
I am not sure how you are thinking of building it. I am thinking you would need a server hosted somewhere that can send a doorbell or video to your phone? It needs security, server to phone push … it gets complicated.
These days a lot of utilities have 3 components - hardware, software and backend hosting e.g. Ring door bell - you need all three to be able to DIY it. So DIY options are so complex that only highly motivated technical folks can do it. There need to be open source glue (OSG?) to make it simple, only then we can hope to reduce enshittification.
AI is being used to replace a lot of jobs, but companies usually do not want to advertise that.
There are possibilities of consumer products (e.g. smarter alexa and siri) but those are non monetized, so they cannot generate 100B revenue from it.
There is possibility of more innovative products e.g. smart christmas toy, but AI needs few more years to get there.
