Often Pirating can come with not only risk but also can be not the best quality out there, the easiest pirating method I know of getting music is finding the song on YouTube and that is defo not studio quality.
I know not much will go to the artist but this is the best I can do without the money or ability to go to there shows and not enjoying Streaming Services.
iTunes is DRM free, you can easily move the MP3 files to any device (even ones that have never had iCloud access).
I don’t buy physical as I would wear it out playing the only track I would want to listen to on the album (as often it’s only 1-2 songs I am actually interested in.
I purchase music to get the highest quality possible, pay towards the artists I enjoy listening to & so I don’t pay for streaming services such as Spotify as they are bad models especially when I don’t want to listen to music one month.
Yeah sadly I can’t easily take over these platforms that I’d love to keep alive without using an alt account.
Also I love answering the comments, it get’s hard to answer all of them if there’s 100+ comments and some ask the same 2 questions I’ve answered a few times previously.
Some months I listen to no music at all, as other months it’s not normally more than a few songs I listen to on repeat, obviously my playlists grow but not at 10 songs a month all year around. Also music streaming services are more closer to 14.99 in my country than 9.99
So there’s certain games I’ve been playing but it seems like most are just not really active;
- Minecraft
- GTA Online
- Counter-Strike
- Satisfactory
- No Man’s Sky
Are just a few of the games I play but obviously I want to find more things than just gaming communities.
I know i’ve got a few songs that I’ve got over 10 listens to, and I think a good goal for each track might be 1 play per pence that I spent on it, so a £0.99 song would be 99 plays.
Yes that can be helpful if you are the one feeling you are overstaying, a good amount of the time people are really nice and honest about things so that’s really helpful
I get what you mean it seems like a lot of people push back from LGBT based things these days and it sucks. As a pan, trans woman I love finding gay content, especially to do with topics I enjoy such as Gaming.
I personally avoid streaming services as I know some months I rather just listen to podcasts or just not listen to music at all. This is why I’m starting a digital library of songs that I purchase. But yeah I guess getting a song to less than 0.01 per play would be a good goal to see the value in the purchase.
That is fair enough, I purchase Digitally as it’s cheaper (as not really interested in a full album) and the higher quality of music does help a bit as it means I can hear it on better quality kit and it still sounds amazing. Streaming isn’t really a thing I enjoy as some months I may not want a new song or even want to listen to music, So i’m triyng to work out what amount of plays makes sense that you’ve ‘got worth’ out of it. I know it’s a little subjective but I wonder how much 99p is worth
Sadly I don’t use the instances these communities are apart of meaning I can’t gain control / moderate them.
I might see about just posting in these smaller groups as I would love to see them grow.
TBH that is a fair enough group that I can see why there’s no posts in lol
So the reason I purchase songs digitally is a few reasons;
Yeah I guess that could feel strange but wouldn’t that be better than 0 posts at all? Like hey least they are trying to grow the community and making some sort of effort.
That’s fair enough, I find when a community is empty I am less likely to even consider posting in it, compared to one that maybe has a single post from 6+ months ago.
Even if you are squatting on a community I think it makes sense to try and make it look active by posting yourself.
As an autistic person I feel like i’m over staying my welcome sometimes, the easiest way to confront me is be like “hey, great to see you but I have other stuff to do. We should do this again”
@MutilationWave Well I don’t often enough the BBC is spreading misinformation & hatred about people like me so i’m not interested.
@MutilationWave why should I pay for something I don’t like support or use
To best honest that sounds like a YouTube thing, as does it do it on any other app? If it done it on any other app with a similar feature maybe it would be Apple but if it’s just YouTube maybe Google didn’t integrate it correctly.
