Congrats on taking control of your mental health and distancing yourself from people who make that hard to do. I hope you’re able to have some fun times with your coworkers!

Happy early birthday!
Not sure if it’s the same type of thing, but my cat has a habit of standing downstairs and crying at bedtime until we yell, “Ralph, we’re up here!” 😂
Damn, Lyle Lovett is good. I might have been the youngest person in the audience, and I’m not that young. Glad I was able to be there!
Basically it’s an approach to teaching music with a heavy focus on giving students the building blocks they need to have a creative relationship with music. It comes from the idea that music is inherently in all of us and that everyone has something valuable to offer. As teachers our job is to give students the tools and vocabulary to communicate it.
Keep spending time with these people! In some ways the state of society certainly does suck, but finding our people who go against that grain has the potential to make things better. At the very least, we can make some things better in the small ways we can, and that’s still something important.
Started Orff Level III today! Which probably means nothing to any of you, but it’s a really great course for music teachers.
Cool, I’ll definitely look into those when I get a chance. Maybe Starbound to start with. Thanks!
I got into gaming late and don’t have a ton of time to play, so I’m not a super experienced gamer. I LOVE No Man’s Sky. Any thoughts on which of these I would enjoy most if I feel like branching out?
I was a bit older than their target audience, but it was one of my little sister’s favorites, so I’d catch bits and pieces. I also remember how popular Jack Russell Terriers were at the time. I got to help out at a Jack Russell Terrier dog show at one point, and that was super fun.
When my dad passed away a few years ago, a friend who had been through the same described it to me as waves of grief that get further apart. I’ve found that to be true. Your mom will always be with you but also not, and that absence can be incredibly painful sometimes.
Any of these passive aggressive comments and in addition something for yourself. Because you deserve it.
I’m a bi/pan woman and yes, that is an objective truth.
I think it confronted some issues that many of us have been aware of for a long time in a somewhat superficial way. I also think that it brought some conversations into the mainstream that might not have happened otherwise. So I liked it.
Nah, Walter lives on the other side of town.
Update: Fire pit time. It’s been too long. Drinking a lovely sour IPA to go with it.
Does this have something to do with Myspace? (Sorry, I’m in the minority here in that I’m not a techy person at all so I figured I’d use this super old Flickr account to share images. Please tell me if there’s a better way! 😂)
That’s awesome! You should definitely write about it after if you’re so inclined.
