Replying with Boost for Lemmy and immediately paid for ad free! Happy to make occasional donations for my favorite app
The Sid the sloth vibes are real
This seems to be new frontier for a lot of users. Lemmy is like Reddit in a lot of ways but so much different in so many more ways. As new users, we’re pretty much guinea pigs (or lemmings, I guess) and I imagine there’s going to be a lot of this in the weeks to come.
Would have been nice to get a little more experience under my feet before having to deal with this
This is experience! If Lemmy works out, we’ll be able to say we helped pave the way!
I can completely understand why they did but it really sucks that it had to happen. Hopefully, as the Fediverse grows, better tools are made available so instances don’t need to defederate from each other.
With that said, I think it’s a pretty amazing concept that they can. Terrible, sure, but nonetheless amazing.
I also wasn’t aware that other instances vetted their users? This was the first one I picked. Is there a plan to address the issues beehaw brought up?
I’m trying to get a SFFPC community going, if you want to check it out! https://sh.itjust.works/c/sffpc Just heads up that there’s not much happening right now, but I’m hoping that changes soon!
I was out here trying to get a SFFPC community going and I find StalinsMoustache shitting on it lol. If you want to share your build or get advice, you should check it out: https://sh.itjust.works/c/sffpc
I made a community for SFFPC, if you want to check it out: https://sh.itjust.works/c/sffpc There’s not much happening there right now, but I’m hoping that changes soon!

Okay but if we eat the rich, I’m here for it
Is this the part where we seize the means of production and eat the rich? Because I’m here for it.
Not related at all, but it’s a funny feeling having signed up to one of the smaller servers and seeing it mentioned, being like “that’s where I’m from” insert Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme
I honestly mostly picked that one because of the name: shit just works
Come a day, we’ll all end up back on Fark and the cycle will repeat itself.
If it was turning into a shithole before all the people that actually care about the site left, just imagine what it will be like in the coming weeks now that we’re gone.
i don’t know why this made me lol but it did
With the recent news of Nintendo trying to block emulators on Steam, I got the itch to play some GoldenEye 007. It’s way harder than I remember it being.
Of course, that might just be because I always played the easiest difficulty when I was younger and/or the fact that modern controls just kinda suck with N64 games, but whatta ya gonna do, y’know? 🤔
Boost for Reddit was the best 3P app and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise! Hopefully, we’ll be seeing a Boost for Lemmy clone in the app store soon.
I’ve commented once already that I hope the influx of new users helps the development of Jerboa and/or encourages other developers to build on Lemmy.
It would be nice seeing Lemmy is Fun/Boost for Lemmy/Sync for Lemmy clones popping up.
My understanding is (and if I’m wrong, someone please correct me) instances/servers are like little towns with their own communities. But you’re not limited to just your town and your communities. You’re free to visit any town and join any of their communities.
I’m sure it’s much more convoluted than that, this was just my simple understanding of it.
How would you go about finding these communities? Is there a functionality in the Jerboa app to search different instances for the old subs?
