I like wattle day as a national holiday. I also like 9 July as Australian day, when the Queen said we could be our own nation instead of a collection of British controlled colonies. The most Australian thing to do is have more than one day off work to respect our nation by getting sunburnt and picking flowers. Real Aussies just want another day off.

I meant at lane merges but I agree your point that as we get older we don’t tend to indicate as often as we should. The rule I was taught about indicating was 3 ‘clicks’ of the indicator before moving across lanes. Most people turn the indicator on as they are changing lanes and it can be dangerous as fick on the old M80 in Melbourne.

I never understood why the indication, left lane is still the left lane and conversely so is the right lane still the right lane. Back last millenia when I got my license, the instructor said I don’t need to indicate so I just continued their teachings. When there are 3 or more dropping down, then I understand as there’s usually a bus lane or turn that is near also.

I’ve been to China a few times and while some of their infrastructure is amazing a lot isn’t good or safe. Don’t get me wrong though, each time I go to China the improvements to amenities and quality of life for locals always seems to be improving. Locals have to work hard to get what they get in life versus me in my western job doing 8-4 each day.

I think they said all the needed was pizza + dental and they’d sell out. No need to manipulate a hungry man, just tell him what to do to get some food.
