I got into Arch again after a decade long Linux break. Imho it’s fantastic.
I’ve quit several times just by writing with a complaint to customer support, never even attempted the normal route…
I’ve used https://www.sublimemerge.com and https://www.sourcetreeapp.com but I think i prefer to just use my terminal most of the time…

It depends what you do. I do data science, and didn’t have any problems switching to ARM. The machine is just better than my old iteration - better ports, better keyboard, no touchbar, and runs faster, smoother, quieter, and for longer. My dev setup didn’t change, and remains the same as what I run on my intel lenovo archlinux laptop…
M1 pro didn’t exist back then :)
It’s pretty good and depending on load can go all day. Graphics heavy stuff or intense processing uses a bunch more though, but then mostly I use it at my desk with the power plugged… so far I got no complaints with this device
