I can recommend minifree.org - this is a shop from Leah Rowe, who is the lead developer of the libreboot project. That is a (more secure) bios alternative, related to coreboot.

I bought my Thinkpad T400 from there, some 6 years ago or something. I am still writing on it and i can highly recommend it. However, today i would buy a smaller form factor. so 12,8° instead of 14°.

So it is kind of heavy compared to a macbook air and not the fastest machine, but you can get your stuff done. And it is really really durable, which is the reason i bought one of the older thinkpads.

And with minifree.org you can be sure that the linux/libreboot/coreboot support is really great. Because: since Leah is a developer, she testes everything beforehand and fixes problems when she notices it. So i would recommend to describe what you would want to do. For instance, initially i wanted to use a encrypted harddrive and i had installed the grub variant, but later upgraded to libreoot with seabios. This was much better and fixed the problems with my encrypted harddrive. But i suspect leah would have found out and fixed that already, had i told her that.

Also for instance, seabios has better openBSD support.

hmm, danke für den hinweis! Deren Russland Positionierung find ich in der tat problematisch. Ich hoffe ja immer (wie auch z.B. bei der partei die linke) dass man solche problematische positionen durch reden überwinden kann, aber evtl bin ich da auch naiv. Also ist evtl auch eine Hoffnung, weil ich sonst nix anderes habe als zu hoffen auf diese eine Lösung.

(Auch weil ich denke dass einige die so eine positionierung vertreten den hintergrund haben dass so waffen-hersteller nicht von dieser krise profitieren sollten. Aber ich würd dem entgegenen, dass es nicht wirklich alternativen dazu gibt von kapitalistischen waffenherstellern waffen zu kaufen um damit die ukraine zu verteidigen. bzw z.B. sozialistische waffenproduktion ist halt unrealistisch, denn da muss eins erstmal den kapitalismus überwinden.

Mit dieser art von argumentation hoffe ich da leute zu mehr ukraine-solidarität zu überreden)

Ich hab überhaupt keine Ahnung, aber: ich vermute es ist überhaupt gleich leicht für faschisten andere faschisten in minister-Positionen und so zu bringen. Der unterschied ist, dass das in Thüringen (neben Sachsen?) vermutlich schneller passiert als z.B. in NRW. Daher ist das die Schwachstelle.

Tipp: kleine Schritte machen. Ein großes Beet mit vielen verschiedenen Blumen ist auch schon voll gut und sieht hübsch aus. (Den Punkt mit dem Hochwasserschutz musst du ja nicht erwähnen wenn dein Vater dann denkt dass das “zu extreme Gedanken sind” (Also weil wenn eure Wiese/euer Garten unter Wasser steht dann würde dieses mit Blumen prall gefüllte Beet als Ablaufkanal dienen)).

tldr “Blumenwiese” klingt schöner als “Wildwuchs-Wiese” und ist aber evtl in der Praxis dasselbe

(Also ich weiß natürlich nicht ob ihr einen Garten überhaupt habt, das ist ja auch irgendwie bisschen Luxus. Aber dachte ich erwähn das mal)

Und überhaupt musst du das eig auch gar nicht rechtfertigen (wenn du z.B. noch bei den Eltern wohnst). Du kannst sagen dass du das mal lernen willst weil du es schön findest und dass sie sich bitte nicht in deine Hobbies einmischen sollen. :D

Und btw: wenn ihr etwas aus dem Ahrtal-Desaster mitnehmt, dann dass wilde Wiesen mit vielen Pflanzen drauf aktiver und wichtiger Katastrophen Schutz bei euch im Ort/in der Stadt sind!

Alternative die ich auch sinnvoll finde, die ich trotzdem nennen möchte auch wenn es nicht ganz dem entspricht was du beschreibst: gebraucht gekaufte leder winterstifel (oder so). Oder so gebrauchte wanderschuhe, die sind glaub manchmal auch ohne leder.

Alternative wäre Widerstand in Deutschland: nicht den Kopf in den Sand stecken, mit Mut, Entschlossenheit und mit vereinten Kräften gegen Nazis kämpfen! Du bist nicht allein mit diesen Gefühlen und aber noch privilgiert: gerade arme Menschen haben genauso Angst wie du und können aber nicht weglaufen. I disagree - i think only relying on green electricity is good, but it won’t solve the devastating status we are currently that is the climate catastrophe.

Scientists currently say we are on track of their worst predictions. We need radical change, and one such change is reducing our consumption of resources drastically, globally. Consuming less power makes it much easier to use green electricity for this power.

I think this is the wrong direction of trying to solve the climate catastrophe - as long as Big companies continue their egoistical greed for money, climate catastrophe will accelerate. As those big companies won’t choose inconvenient but necessary solutions, they have to be forced by the state. If money is even a small amount of motivation, it is greenwashing.

We have to kill capitalism. This is the only solution which lets society focus on society instead of money.

The biggest challenge humanity as a whole is currently - i am not exaggerating - solving the climate catastrophe. In this context, i don’t care if machine learning lowers barriers.

I don’t want it even - Because we don’t have that many resources available to solving this existential crisis of humanity. I want energy and resources to spent wisely with benefit to society. Much of how machine learning, AI and bitcoin, etc is used today does nothing (and is even harmful) in that regard.
