  • Hm but that’s an interesting point. In Nazi Germany people’s excuse was that they didn’t know and if they knew they were against it but because of the Nazi dictatorship they didn’t say anything.

In 2025 Germany the cost of opposing Staatsräson is infinitely lower, it’s possible to speak out and it’s possible to protest even though German police is notorious for beating and locking up anti-Genocide protestors. Yet, the German media and politicians in 2025 are still ironclad in their support. If really the majority of Germans are against this and they are against colonialism, apartheid and genocide, then where are they?

They all know and they don’t have to fear for their lives, yet they are mostly apathetic. Following Occam’s razor the simplest explanation is that they honestly just don’t care.

  • I think it’s mostly a time issue. Used to be much easier but with recession, inflation, housing crisis, constant layoffs at least I am much busier than I was e.g. 10 years ago.

The little time I have for going to the gym I kinda don’t feel like talking to people I’ll probably never see again. Because I’m also in one of those subscription things where you actually don’t have to be member of a specific gym anymore, you can just go anywhere they partner with. And I think lots of people are doing that nowadays, plus with all the layoffs people move around even more than they used to.

I think phones do play a role but they aren’t the only thing that keeps us from socializing.

  • So will it really cost someone’s job? Will there be any consequences? Are we anywhere near banning Palantir which is arguably magnitudes worse than Huawei could be by running cell phone towers? Are there any consequences for anyone using Palantir or Pegasus?

Again, I don’t think the Chinese are any better than the Americans and I don’t live in China nor do I speak the language so I don’t care what they tell their people, I care that now a scandal is being manufactured against one of the last left leaning countries because China bad while we allow the same and even worse stuff because European politicians and media are transatlantic bootlickers.

  • I recommend reading "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine“ by Israeli historian Ilan Pappe. Most Jewish Arabs had no desire to move to the settler colony until religious violence was facilitated by western countries and Zionists after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Examples are the Baghdad bombings that aimed at frightening Iraqi Jews or even doing payments per head to the Moroccan king because Jews didn’t want to leave home. They successfully managed to escalate tensions so far that people eventually did move, but European politicians try to frame the Arab world as antisemites when Europeans have committed the worst possible atrocities against Jews including, but also long before the holocaust, whereas the Muslim world was a refuge for Jews. Very sad development.

Let’s hope that people don’t fall for the Zionist propaganda that conflates Judaism with Zionism, although I’m not having too much trust in humanity at this point.

  • It’s kind of ridiculous that Huawei is being singled out as the one evil perpetrator while we happily cooperate with US big tech. It’s less of a scandal that European governments are using Palantir and Pegasus against their own citizens than that a Chinese company allegedly also spies on us. Whereas chat control and Meta/Google on us are okay because Trump is our friend?

Not at all saying we should trust the Chinese, pretty sure Huawei isn’t even an inch better than e.g. Google but to be honest we actually don’t know and it just seems like there’s a scandal being manufactured against one of the last left leaning governments in Europe.
