that’s good advice for those who might be bothered by legal nudity or are in a place where it’s inapproprate to view it, but if people filter by subscriptions then it shouldn’t be much of a muchness. for example i haven’t subscribed to any communities on that instance and the only times i see their posts is when people on other instances link to them. once this place picks up enough traffic for people to no longer watch the all page then that problem will go away

yeh true. eg redditors are using lemmy to do stuff and kbin for surfing. at least i’m doing that simply because the feed loads up faster and has more content

don’t get music from streaming services because it’s too low quality. instead hunt for FLAC format. it’s lossless.

i pay for spotify premium (yes i hate ads THAT much) and when i download songs with it for playing offline there’s a weird high gate cutoff which i can clearly notice and sounds like a dogwhistle to me. pretty sure it’s the encryption rather than the sound quality tho. don’t go that option - it removes too much of the shape of the music, fuzzes out too many subtle details.
