If you’re concerned about this, you may want to consider buying a commercial display, which is basically just a giant monitor. They’re meant for businesses and hospitals, so they’re going to be expensive. Many brands such as LG and Samsung sell commercial displays.
Anothet alternative is to buy a projector. Projectors offer a much more “cinematic” experience, and they can be cheaper in comparison to commercial displays. Although there are a few projectors that have smart (anti-)features, most of them lack these. For a projector, I recommend the BenQ HT2060. It’s confirmed to have no smart features, and supports HDR.
And I guarantee we will see a price bump in Disney services before the end of the year for the exact same reason.
They’ve already started cracking down on password sharing on Disney Plus.
In the U.S., an Extra Member profile will cost an additional $6.99 per month for Disney+ Basic subscriptions and $9.99 per month for Disney+ Premium subscriptions. Currently, only one Extra Member slot is available per primary account; in addition, the Extra Member option is not available for Disney Bundle subscribers or for subscribers billed through third-party partners.
Any GPL violations would be reported to the Software Freedom Conservacy, who would go to court on the dev’s behalf.
There was a major lawsuit back in 2022 between the SFC and Vizio, and the SFC won.
It means it can’t ever become proprietary closed-source software (not without a major lawsuit).

There are many reasons why DVD still outsells Blu-ray and 4K UHD:

There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says, “Morning, boys. How’s the water?” And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes, “What the hell is water?”

You should check out /r/movies on Reddit, they’re seething over the very existence of this film.
Isn’t the whole point of (real) IMAX movies to be captured on analog IMAX cameras and projected on analog film?
There are less than 100 IMAX 15/70 analog projectors in the world right now. The majority of IMAX releases are now digital. Plenty of movies that were never filmed for IMAX to begin with are released in IMAX. You still get a bigger image and slightly louder sound, even if it doesn’t make artistic sense.
And hey, if it means getting more 2D animation in theaters, I’m all for it.
It really is a shame, it deserved so much better. The director said they had plans to make Transformers One the first of a trilogy of animated Transformers films, so hopefully the sequels will happen.
It’ll probably make its money back in toy sales, though. That’s where the real money is.
Although Deadpool & Wolverine was released in IMAX, it was actually never shot for IMAX in mind.
The entire film was shot in the 2.39:1 widescreen aspect ratio (IMAX movies usually extend the aspect ratio to the taller 1.90:1), so there were never any actual IMAX scenes to begin with.
x-mas
I see what you did there.
Box office previews are the amount of ticket sales made before the movie officially releases. So it’s basically how much money it made from people pre-ordering tickets.
It’s slightly underwhelming results, but it’s still good.
The budget was $75 million, so it needs to make $187 million to break even (accounting for marketing costs and theaters taking their cut of the profits).
