I am not in favour of EVMs here.
However there are pros and cons for both systems
I am just saying if you go for an electronic voting system using an airtight blockchain like Bitcoin and ethereum to verify votes using a biometric database is the only system trustworthy enough because.
If you use multiple blockchains like these it would require 10 trillion dollars or more to get the computing and staking power to hack the system.
It’s inconceivably costlier than hacking a physical election.
Russia also has paper ballots and I can assure you we can easily kick out Putin with a blockchain based voting system.
That gives so much more opportunity for human intervention.
A good locksmith is all it takes to manipulate the votes.
Even if you keep it under tight security and surveillance they can bribe the security.
Blockchain technology based (BBVS) could be safer but regular EVMs are still hackable
Trustless systems are always better than centralised systems especially when the government in power is also in authority to decide whether they continue to stay in power.
US has been blessed till now.
But look at Russian or North Korean elections. They also use paper ballots

4·5 months agoThe issue here is that although India’s National food regulatory body called FSSAI have maintained that the pesticide is within safe level of 0.1 mg per grams
But Rajasthan state government tested them at their own labs and found 7mg per grams of ethylene oxide. 70 times more than what’s safe for consumption.
Ethylene oxide is a gaseous pesticide which is also used as a fumigant to preserve the spices. After the fumigation the spices have to be aerated for long enough so all of the ethylene oxide evaporates away.
Now clearly someone at the processing facility is either cutting corners or being pushed by operation management to meet targets and not aerating the spices for a sufficient duration.
And both. Indian and American federal regulators like FSSAI, FDA and USDA are just shrugging it off.
However some state regulators have taken the matter seriously. Ethylene oxide is a grade 1 carcinogen.
Kind of how FAA shrugged it off when a few 737 MAX dropped from the sky like it was nothing.

I have specifically mentioned Gujarati billionaires. You know which guys I am talking about.
There are many recent incidents to think of which points in a similar direction.
In Varanasi the livelihood of small boaters is being taken away by large steamers owned by Gujarati billionaires.
In Ayodhya 4500 houses and shops of poor people were bulldozed to build five star hotels owned by Gujarati property tycoons.
In Ahmedabad the biggest semiconductor plant is being built predominantly funded by tax money and low interest loans from Public sector banks but owned by Adani. I mean they literally own the country at this point and if you are paying taxes you are working for them.
I have talked to gujrati middle class people and even they are unhappy with BJP- billionaires rule
Only a handful of billionaires are benefiting from the government policy.
That’s exactly what is happening in India.
Even this contemporary push for hindu nationalism is already making inequality worse than before.
Corruption, unemployment, inflation is getting worse which will further expand the gap between haves and have nots and people are being distracted with culture wars.
There is ample of evidence.
Gujarati businesses are taking over others and driving out local businesses with the help of the government.

Building temples is not going to fix unemployment; inflation; corruption; rape culture.
Ergo it’s just appeasement. No real benifit. Like giving candy to a baby knowing their teeth will rot.
But most people voted for major issues this time like poverty, unemployment and inflation which affect the poor and middle classes
It means exotic dance. Modi used the word in his campaign speeches to target opposition.
BJP is a far right hindu supremacist party serving a handful of Billionaires. Sort of like Trump and republicans. After 10 years of distracting people from major issues like corruption, inflation, unemployment, safety of women with theopolitics they finally lost the majority and now they are only in power because of the support of two left wing parties who could leave them anytime.
Yeah it’s embarrassing that they lost assembly elections in Karnataka to congress and are still able to comeback.
MP is understandable. Just like UP they don’t have a strong state identity and their caste and religion takes centerstage.
MP was congress stronghold until a few years ago when BJP bought some MLAs and installed shivraj singh chauhan
Since then they are running hate campaigns continuously. So MP has become the new UP. It’s not surprising they got every MP seat.
UP people have become wiser. Bihar, MP and Rajasthan have gone backwards.
What I am afraid of is if they are able turn MP into Gujarat, then they may not need UP anymore. The signs of this are visible in what they tried to do with Indore seat.
The trend shows Hindutva bandwagon shifting south.
Gujarat is BJP monopoly. Legislature, executive, judiciary, media, law enforcement, education, businesses, they control everything and nobody wants another Gujarat.
