I think most people hate snaps because in Ubuntu they are pushed on the user quite forcefully rather than being a choice. It’s also my understanding they’re not very open.

I’m very new to Linux but in my experience I found them annoying for Firefox as it kept changing where my files were meant to save to and I found it hard to troubleshoot.

My brief exposure to them was negative so I will now hate them with a passion until the end of time.
