Mine works like yours, it’ll jottle me a bit but if I want the car to go there it goes there, I don’t need special efforts to make it happen. It also has the auto-break thing in case you’re about to rear end someone and I’ve set it to high to see it working but even that I only managed to make it beep and flash but not actually break yet, looks like it would only do it pretty late. I think most people complaining about this are having an “back in my days” moment tbh, but maybe there are indeed cars out there where the implementation is more invasive.

What I don’t get is that this is useful regardless of bikes. If you’re opening your door on the street side, then a vehicle could also rip out your door/you. The “Dutch reach” prevents that just as much as it prevents killing a cyclist. I’m sorry but every time I see this series mentioned, I have to point out that not only is it awesome, but they filmed everything twice, once in Norwegian and once with the actors actually saying the lines in English. I don’t know of any other “dub” done this way.

I don’t see any number or visual cues with the way I got my system setup, it’s great. I would not care either and would just set it where I think the volume is the best, that can definitely be one specific level and not the next or previous.
