Certificate pinning?
Certificate pinning?
Wasn’t that somewhat how Q-anon started?
Note: every file on Ipfs is unencrypted and semi-public unless you encrypt before upload.
It is not a problem to distribute the decryption algorithm. The question remains against what this will protect. Normal https encrypts the traffic safely during transit. With this, the data is also encrypted on the server. But if you can access the server, you can modify the javascript code to send the password back to a server.
It could be used on something like IPFS, where all data is basically public but you can be sure it hasn’t been modified.
Aren’t all (most?) those centralized services? What good is having the app if the service is unavailable? Tox, Jamie and Veilidchat are fully decentralized, not just federated, fully decentralized. They come with their own downsides though…
I also didn’t like AitD. The tank controls, static “3D” screens where you overlooked something if you didn’t walk into every corner and a new screen presented itself… Oh wait, you’re talking about a remaster? I’m talking about the original…
Myst.
I came for the graphics and because I liked adventuers. Was disappointed by the static graphics and I didn’t understand what to do at all.
This device on the other hand has support for as long as you backport the new kernel yourself.
Open Source doesnt mean a lot, until there are enough interested devs (or you) to do the work.
Just ask how many pinephones are used for more then “interesting test phone you pull out of the drawer once a quarter”.
I’m an iphone hater, but I assume the environmental aspect of this is worse then an Ipad you use for 5+ years. (On average, per total time used, YMMV)
I still sometimes have a similar problem. Where I do something small with python, call it “serial.py”, first line “import serial”…
No wonder. That file is super slow to transfer for some reason. but wait till you get to /dev/urandom. That file hat TBs to transfer at whatever pipe you can throw at it…
I dont now what records they have to keep? At the end of the day, whatever they have more then they should have according to what they started with and what they served are tips. If payed with card, the records are there anyway.
Imo if the worker is payed so well thet tipping is unusual, that should be the norm. Then when I have a reason, my kid puked on the table and the waiter cleaned it up or whatever and I feel like giving them 20, that should be tax free. As long as tips are a significant part of income it should be taxed. Not taxing tips doesn’t fix the problem that workers are not payed enough.
I’m still not sure this is a good idea. Workers should simply be paid a reaeonable wage and not have to rely on customers t pay more then advertized.
For how long though? How do you know these are real people?
Encrypted “archives” like zip or similar will not be crackable by quantum computers. They use (if strongly encrypted) a well known stream cypher like AES. Those are not severely impacted by QC.
Only asymmetric crypto like RSA or ECDSA (elliptic curve) are easily cracked by a powerfull QC. These are used in communications like https.
Internet cummunication is fucked with qc. Stuff encrypted with a strong password is not.
Oh no the wires are a mess. Usb3 cables have extra wires and pins for super-speed. IIRC usb-c has said extra pins for usb configuration like pd or displayport alt mode. The wires can also be different. Some can carry more current, most cables are insufficient for really high data rates…
USB-PD is only specified for USB-C. I think they use an extra channel for this configuration, so it’s not possible to use PD over A plugs.
There were competing standards like Qualcom quick charge. AFAIK they never went above 20-ish watts on USB-A, while PD is specced at up to 240W.
They have an exclusive deal with Epic. So no Steam/GOG for the forseeable future. They say the game would not have happened wnthout the money from Epic.
I guess the DRM-free version was the best deal they could get…
Imo the most important thing is the separation of what you do. If you’re logged in on facebook, you can do that from your public ip. Anything you’re not associated with your name you want to use a diffferent browser identity and maybe a different ip.
If you use Torrents or do anything illegal or whistleblowing or similar stuff, use a live linux iso with no persistence and a vpn bought with monero.
If you tried to do it yourself and compare what others can do, then no. Therer are AI artists and I’m not one of them.
You get an image with ‘picture of djt in a church with 6 fingers’ but it takes skill to get really good quality stuff.
