  • I’ve had the same thoughts ever since I first heard the term. The gaming world seems to excel in making up stupid names for genres. Boomer shooter is a perfect example of this. These games have absolutely nothing to do with boomers or boomer style thinking, yet here we are.

Now that I’ve started, I’m gonna rant about character action games too. What the fuck is that? Most games have characters and those characters perform actions. Mario? Character action game. Halo? Character action game. Puzzle Bobble? You guessed it! Character action game. It’s such a generic and non descriptive name that can be applied to almost any game. And don’t get me started about “shmups!” 🙄

  • You’re all wrong. It’s DriveClub. They put so much detail in the simulation of air pressure, angle of light coming from the sun, dynamic volumetric clouds, and so much more. On top of that, they simulate their weather on the conditions 100 miles out from the actual racetrack to make things as realistic as possible. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

  • The cynic in me says that it’s because if they did this, you’d have less reason to buy their limited edition notebooks. If you could just buy a bunch of standard A5 notebooks for example, and one reusable cover, you’d probably stick with a cover design or two that you like and just buy standard notebooks which are likely cheaper, especially if you get them on sale. There’s less profit in that arrangement for the manufacturers since you wouldn’t need to keep buying limited edition (and likely higher priced) notebooks as you fulled them up.

  • People lost their shit about Google Glass, claiming users would be able to take pics of them without their knowledge, yet they didn’t bat an eye at the established creepers doing that already with smartphones and they sure don’t seem to care much about Meta putting forth Glass 2.0, now with more invasiveness! An article about it is a good first step, but articles like this about Glass were everywhere, along with a general negative sentiment in the public (and there even were some assaults on people using those things!), yet I rarely hear about these even worse glasses. Do people just not care about privacy anymore?
