Is it a possibility that shill accounts are using sports subreddits to obfuscate the fact that they are still accounts? Like “Hey there fellow citizens, I’m totally a normal poster and a red blooded American who really likes sports!”.
I mean you can see it happening here. How many cyber armies do you think are started ng to pop up on Lemmy, from the US, from China, from Russia. How many corporate astroturfers do you think are coming on here, apple dicksuckers, etc. shit, mainstream media is trying to dip it’s toes into federated spaces.
Time to switch to Linux
I wonder if increased heat or any other manner of fucked up weather patterns could damage Stonehenge?
I wonder if having your own self hosted local llm would be better then?
Hmmm, I would keep an open mind though. It’s not like these oil companies are dumb. They know that their reputation is bad. Slip a few million into the pockets of their enemies and “leak” information that they “the big baddies” are funding these seemingly unlikeable people, and that would likely slowly damage their reputation beyond repair. Although that may just be some light conspiracism on my part.
Edit Addendum: I do think that whatever actions that just stop oil has done are ultimately harmless to whatever object they “”“”“vandalize”“”“”. Their actions are very good at getting public attention on climate change, and maybe even boosting donations to less radical climate activist groups.
Idk man, sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. Like wasn’t there reporting about the US recently in which the military was spreading antivax misinformation in the Philippines and other countries. Russia and China has their own cyber armies too. It’s not too much of a stretch that large conglomerates and corpos may have their own private propaganda wings either.
Nah they definitely still do. But reading stuff takes time, and many people in the US just don’t have that time to dedicate. So many people have to work long ass hours, and then they come back home and do you think they want to read? If they have a family or have a significant other, I think it far more likely that they would think it’s the best usage of their time to spend time with them, and in alot of ways it is. Lack of leisure time is the problem.
There’s also the idea that they’ve closed contact with the outside world because anytime they met with outsiders, they got decimated by various disease and viruses.
Lol, then they are fucking retarded, muslim families will by far outbreed any Christian family out there.
I mean, the top with a bit of lettuce as the buns would be nice
It is a fallacy, just not a formal fallacy. It is within the purview of informal fallacies. An informal fallacy is found in the content of the argument itself, not its logical structure. The “no true Scotsman” fallacy occurs when the standards for a category are arbitrary, irrelevant, or are established in an ad hoc manner purely to win the argument.
You can be a part of a group with strict tenets, and be a hypocrite that follows none of it too. After all, you cannot be a hypocrite of something without having placed yourself within the group or set of tenets of which you are hypocritically not following. Thus you can be a Christian, and a hypocrite. You can say that, you are either a hypocrite or a Christian, and that’s all well and good too, but perhaps that’s a different argument. In language, you can specify the group or set of tenets one is a hypocrite of. Thus these are Christian hypocrites. Just as there are probably a few Muslim Hypocrites too.
Reminds me of the whole aids denialism movement, but potentially more deadly this time
Pretty sure you can bump fire even without a bump stock. Wasn’t there a “belt loop” trick even before bumpstocks were ever made?
Would be funny if this guy was found out to be closeted the whole time.
I think the problem with tankies is that they let their perception of what is “pragmatic” and “realistic” poison and overpower their true ideals, which tends to steer them towards authoritarianism. So scared of losing, that they lose themselves in pursuit of victory.
I think most of the hostility is in regards to shilling of certain sites and services. Local self hosted AI is not likely to get as much flack I feel. Another aspect of hate is people generating images and calling it art, which…it is but, it’s the microwave equivalent of art. Such negative sentiments can be remedied by actually doing artistic shit with whatever image they generate, like idk, put the image into Photoshop and maybe editing the image in a way that actually improves it, or using said image as a canvas to be added onto or some other shit.
Edit Addendum: also the negative perception of AI has mostly been engendered by some of its more unpleasant supporters, who think of it as a way to make “irrelevant” certain groups they don’t like, and to take some sorta sick schadenfreude in the “replacement” of these people, which they think may be a way of reducing the power of these people (politically, socially, etc), and that’s kinda fucked up.
