famously small towns of Macon, GA (150k population) and Homestead, FL (80k population).
I live in a town of 5k, so I’m sure it’s the same.

any other games they do like? what works for one 12 year old won’t for another.
Menara - cooperative dexterity game, where you building towers
Legendary - Marvel Superhero deckbuilding . “Semi” coop, but if you tweak the difficulty, the focus is on coop
Flashpoint:Fire Rescue - Firemen. rescue people, fight fires.
Pandemic/Forbidden Island - this is the ‘classic’ coop. it’s a little puzzly for my tastes, but it’s popular.
D&D Adventure Games - Wrath of Ashardalon, Castle Ravenloft. alittle older, but scratches a coop dungeon crawler itch.
my son (11) really enjoys Aeon’s End and Spirit Island.
Menara is what we graduated to after Rhino Hero Super Battle. It’s always impressive to see on yhr table.
Have you looked at the expansion at all?
We moved to Menara after Rhino Hero Super battle. It’s significantly harder, but it shouldn’t be to difficult to tweak it if needed
As an alternative, I’ve been 3d printing bases to differentiate plastic miniatures. Similar to the bases in something like Argent or Blood Rage.
Obviously not as pretty as painted minis, but significantly easier to play with
No, it’s how I said it. I just checked - there are a couple posts from Ruud’s beehaw account over there discussing it. If you visit the conversation with an account not from lemmy.world, there are a number of posts that show up that we can’t see.
power users and mods leaving. The big key is how moderation continues on reddit. whether the scab mods and those that stayed are able to control the bots and spam or not. if they can, then reddit continues mostly as normal.
I didn’t think this made the beehaw stuff read only. I thought we got a snapshot from the moment they defederated, and it doesn’t update after that. .world users can comment, but that’s only on the snapshot that .world is storing. as time goes on it veers further and further from the ‘real’ content stored on beehaw.
Another S20FE here. I’ve had new phone fever recently, but I keep having to ask myself…what exactly am I going to gain from spending almost a grand on a new S23.
There are exceptions, but for most games, given a choice between SNES and GBA versions, the SNES one is better. Usually sound is severely compressed on the GBA and the visuals are washed out.
as long as the instances are federated, you can interact with communities on other instances. There’s alittle extra effort needed to subscribe to a community on another instance, but it’s not difficult.
it does mean that you are subject to the uptime of whatever server the community is on. So things like Lemmy.ml that are having difficulties right now affect more than just the users on that instance.
I have a picture of Tigger as the Carolina Panthers (NFL football team) logo
