I have a Chinese friend he lives in Australia. When he buys phone that are regionally set to China and shipped from China you can see data being sent to Chinese IP’s even when you type on the keyboard for example. Interestingly when you reinstall Android and set the region to Australia this data stream stops.

I’m not saying there isn’t something still hiding in the firmware or that everything you type isn’t being also sent to Google for example but there is definitely spyware on these Chinese phones. It’s just good to be aware of.
