What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?
Blood rain, giblets, and warm bullet casings
Mild, sharp, and sharper cheese tastings
Metal dudes shredding their taut guitar strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Just tested again with one instance, closed app and reopened, list empty.

Just had this happen yesterday. Thankfully I had only taken the time to add a few since it’s manual typing and not a menu or interface option. Wondering if it’s been fixed.
Yo, rosarita spicy refried beans hit tho. Good thinking
Easy, I started my boycott after trying it for the first time 10 years ago.
Exact same boat man. Even messed around till I figured out how to nest spoilers so it was nice and compact and boom, no markdown on mobile.
I’m struggling to understand it too, especially from instance owners. FB is diametrically opposed to FOSS and decentralized ideals. My only guess is the hopefulness people feel for decentralized internet extends to naivete about FB doing the right thing this time.
I wouldn’t until they commented or posted. Then you can see their instance in the user name.
And I agree, defederation would be great. But I don’t control that. So, short of packing up shop, this is my idea for now.
The tactics are known and proven. Your gut is correct.

I don’t really know that I have a duty to do that. And I’ve been beating the drum for a decade plus now. We see what little good it does. People just want the easiest UI/UX regardless of other considerations.
But I’m open to hearing your suggestion on how you teach someone on a corporate platform associated with Facebook how corporate owned internet is bad.
I could and should make my rule include a call to action to create an account on another instance. Is that sufficient education?
certainly sounds like good old helldiving to me. Can’t wait.
This is absolutely a bad outcome and I hope the pact prevents this from playing out.
However, I feel kind of ok with losing the subset of users that would accept and use a Facebook implementation of the fediverse. It directly defeats the purpose, regardless of how much better the UI/UX may be, and shows they didn’t understand it in the first place.
We’re all still learning, but check your facts before posting this type of info so you don’t add to confusion about defederation.
@sss had it right. We can still see posts from beehaw, just not comments. If we comment on the posts or make our own posts, they only show up on [email protected] and won’t go to beehaw. And syncing seems to be about 3 hours behind there, but that could just be the general sync issues right now, unclear.
Is outbound federation a known issue?
I’ve just tested inbound from sh.itjust.works and it was instantaneous. But my outbound posts that have worked take hours and none have succeeded for days.
The Black Pool is a…unique…experience.
If you have 28GB to spare and ample patience, its worth it.
