But China ain’t failing, per capita, they’re actually doing very well and single-handedly powering the price reductions in solar, EVs and batteries with other countries being obstinate (see USA)

Thing is (me personally speaking) i have an ideological preference towards decentralisation and I’d prefer if people more got used to having decentralised infrastructure rather than sticking to the old model (in form, not function).
Thing is, at least for FFMV, the idea is not just prescribed burns but also mechanical load reduction and other forms of fire prevention that are suited to different ecologies.
Defeats the whole purpose tbh. Federation means decentralisation, single point of failure architecture in that is asking for trouble.
Problem with that is that is catering to a certain set of people while ignoring a whole larger user base that Mastodon could appeal to.
Probably easier for social graph exploration TBH, it’s one of Mastodons main handicaps.
Doesn’t factor in cost of living, probably only exchange rates. Also Japanese coffee is terrible.
Allowing different markets seems like the only alternative to side loading/homebrew. It was easier to develop games back in the day when you didn’t have too grovel to the device company overlords, this regulation just takes us back to that (sort of).
I mean, sure, for the polysilicon and stuff like that. But again, that’s how all of the products made by, for instance, Foxconn are done. Do we just stop buying iPhones or PS5’s or even clothing from places with terrible working conditions?
