The labor market moderated in July, reflecting a cooling economy. But wages grew slightly more than expected, and are running faster than policymakers would like as they fight inflation.

    Unemployment back to 3.5%, wages rising faster than inflation, jobs gained per month (+187k) basically the same as last month, inflation at 3%.

    When the worst thing you can say about a months data is that wages are rising, that’s a pretty good month.
