There is an entire world outside of America, where they have cops that don’t apparently murder people and animals indiscriminately.

For the record, Chocolate poisoning is only rarely fatal to dogs.

Actually, we had this one beagle, named Mooky. I was young enough that I don’t remember too many of his hijinks. Neither did I get to name him, which is why it’s something lame like “mooky”. In any case, this dog was a pound dog and an escape artist and all around trouble maker. One day he got into a full pound of chocolate truffles -and apparently got into other food, There was a hersey’s kiss shaped pile of poo that weighed at least as much as he did. Left on my brother’s bed.

Yes. I was Mooky’s favorite. we loved each other.

Theobromine is poisonous to dogs, it’s just that many kinds of “chocolate” contain so little cocoa. The US only requires 10% cocoa mass to be called “milk chocolate”, whereas the EU requires at least 35%.

all true, and if they get enough, it will be fatal.

still it’s rarely actually fatal. doesn’t mean you should feed your dogs chocolate, by any means. But if they steal some off the counter (what Mooky did.) they’re in for a bad night or a few bad nights, even. but statistically… not gonna kill them.

Mooky was too much of a trouble maker to die from a pound of truffles, though. He lived to a ripe old age terrorizing my mom and the vet alike.
