Wild. At the time of Mt. Gox disappearing, I had about $5 worth of Bitcoin. Even at it’s peak it wasn’t worth a ton so it’s not like I lost out on a life changing sum of money, but I legit never thought they’d be caught.
This was also before KYC regulations were widespread for BTC so it’s remarkable it was possible to catch them at all. Must have been an amateur job.
