If not, would anyone help me build one ?
I was thinking of using git and markdown or google sheets.
Apart from ovbious features, it would need to compare TDP control, and benchmarks.
UPDATE: First version is up, and open to issues & PRs. Please contribute! Link https://github.com/berserkwarwolf/SteamOS-alternatives-overview
Bazzite and HoloISO are immutable, that’s a huge difference (good or bad, depending on your use case), and If you don’t care about VRR & HDR, Bazzite also supports GNOME the other two distros don’t.
Also, out of the three, as far as I know, Bazzite is the only one that supports Nvidia.
I also need to evaluate which distros have the native Steam packageor if they use the Steam flatpak, since the Flatpak version doesn’t support libraries on multiple drives. That would also be a huge difference.
ChimeraOS is based on GNOME and immutable: https://github.com/ChimeraOS/chimeraos/wiki/OS-Comparison
That’s the main difference between Holo and Chimera. Their upstream setups with SteamOS are essentially the same.
Also, Nvidia drivers don’t work with any of the extra Valve tools in SteamOS (gamescope), so if you’re going the Nvidia route, I wouldn’t recommend using anything based on SteamOS anyway.

I think the chart from the Chimera docs I posted has everything you need, no?
Not everything, but it’s a great starting point, I included most of it, thanks a lot.

In the context of this conversation it sounds like we are talking about handhelds. To my knowledge there are no Nvidia handhelds (except the Switch), and even if there were, they wouldn’t support Gamescope, which is kinda the whole point, so I don’t think that’s really relevant to the conversation.
If we’re not talking about handhelds, there are dozens of distros that support Nvidia, and when I installed Bazzite on my desktop it didn’t work anyway so… 🤷
Not saying Bazzite is bad, just that I don’t see any advantages over Chimera, unless you just REALLY want Fedora Atomic.
