It kind of annoys me that “experience” gets so much weight when it comes to ability. I understand that there are real benefits to it, but it’s possible for someone with a lot of time on a job to be completely incompetent. There’s good experience and bad experience, and you generally don’t get exposure to the good kind until you’ve already sort of solidified as a professional.
This commentator called the ref out. Said he hasn’t done that good a job despite his “experience”.
