After a quick selection process following Loreen’s historic second victory, SVT (the Swedish public broadcaster) has settled on the border city of Malmö to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024. It beat out Stockholm, whose biggest area had a commitment for Tay Swift the week after, Götheborg, whose arena is a half century old and needs some roof work, and another city well to the north with no good travel or lodging options. Additionally in Malmö’s favor, København in Denmark is a 15 minute train ride over the Øresund bridge.
