Context: Us airforce member set himself on fire in front of the israeli embassy, but the embassy guard felt the need to point his gun at him.
Was it cos of the acorns?
Most American cops only know how to use their guns;
Man shot during mental health check
Woman shot during mental health check
Man shot during mental health check
Man shot during mental health check
Man shot 38 times during mental health check
Only a few, I really don’t want to do this all day.
I can’t stop reading embassy as embussy. Send help.
You can get to safety inside the embussy if you ask for asylum. They’re very accommodating.
Is a person on fire not a danger? What if they decided to immolate more than just themselves?
Thats never happened, has it?
No idea. I’m not a historian of self-immolation.
The guy was collapsed and passed out mate. Stop trying to defend cops.
I love how you make this about Israel and bury the lead about how your own service member killed himself cause your government fucked them up
He was literally protesting Israel. At their embassy. While shouting “Free Palestine”…
BTW, it’s “lede” and doesn’t really apply here.
TIL It’s lede.
He literally did it in protest for gaza.
Don’t know all the details yet, but does seem suspicious that maybe there is a mental health issue too? Not a huge leap to think that said mental health issue might be related to a stressful time like perhaps being in the military.
A lot of people are upset about the happenings in Gaza. Self ignition is not so common a reaction just yet at least.
self immolation has historically been about protesting, not about committing suicide.
Ok
In what way was it ‘made’ about Israel? I didn’t get that at all
Apparently adding facts makes it about Israel.
*In front of the Israel embassy *shouted “free Palestine”
i don’t get how it could not be about israel. are kids not taught what self-immolation is these days? I seem to remember learning about it in my 9th grade history classe
