    the Taliban spokesperson, Alokozai, claimed that the suspensions had nothing to do with the content of some of the domains, indicating that payment would reverse the suspension.

    There’s something funny about everyone assuming the domain was taken down for religious reasons, and the taliban having to clarify that they don’t give a shit and just want money.

    There are hundreds of gTLDs now, maybe everyone can stop abusing country code TLDs and leave them for their intended purposes.

      Especially in tech, if an intended purpose isn’t actually enforced then that’s as good as having no intended purpose at all.

    Though the .af domain is related to the country of Afghanistan, ‘af’ is also a commonly used abbreviation in the English language, hence its use in non-Afghan sites.
