I bought the 6a almost a year ago and have been using it until a few days ago. The phone is great but I never used it comfortably and lately because of having to put it in my short’s pockets (it’s summer) I started to notice more and more how big it is. I decided to compare the size of it with the Pixel 5 (since eveyone says it’s the perfect sized phone) and I saw how much taller, thicker and even heavier the 6a is compared to 5.

So I decided to look for Pixel 5 on the web just to see how much they cost and found a great refurbished at 240€ mint condition. I looked around for other 6.0inch phones and there are so very few a them (Asus mostly).

Now I’m using the Pixel 5 and it’s so much better to hold it and carry it around… I wish the Pixel 8a has this size (if it’s released at all), since 8 is going to be like the 6a most likely.

Do you guys miss a 5.9’‘/6.0’’ phone? I hate how all smartphones’ screens are at least 6.1 inches and have the tall 20:9 ratio…

I feel you, I was about to buy the Asus Zenfone 10 just for its size as I really miss the old days when we had small phones, but I ended up buying the Pixel 7a instead as there was a better deal for the Pixel 7a + the Pixel Buds and the guaranteed software updates won me over. I wish smartphone manufacturers would show the small form factor segment more love.

100% agree, when I bought my pixel 6 I was really thinking of getting the 5a. But there was a crazy black friday deal on the 6 that made it a no-brainer. Along with the crazy size and weight, I still wish I had a physical fingerprint reader.

The one thing I don’t like about my 6 is the size. It’s just such a brick in my pants pocket!

To be honest… I am a pixel 6 user and went back to using my pixel 3 for a few days. I ended up returning to the 6 after a little bit. The battery life and screen size swayed me

Pixel 3 is 5.5’’ and the battery is less than 3000mAh, so I totally understand why you went back.

You are definitely crazier than OP. Pixel 3 is literally the worst pixel

I liked my pixel 3xl when I had to use it for a couple weeks after managing to fold my iPhone. Maybe that was just because of switching to android from iOS, though.

I have a Pixel 4a. They are small and cute. Easy to hold. But I sure would like a larger screen. My husband has one of the newer ones and the larger screen is easier for me to read.

If you are looking for a small and light one, the 4as are super.

Love the size of my pixel 5. My significant other crushed her 5a and found a cheap pixel 4. Really like the size of that one. Kinda like the Sony Xperia, tall and narrow

Nexus 5, Pixel 3A and Pixel 5 in my opinion were the best Google phones.

And the Moto X is also an honourable mention. Probably the best.

Now Google focuses on adding more services and they tackle the battery issues by adding bigger batteries.

Is the Px5 that much larger than the Nexus 6? I’ve had the Nx6, Px2, and currently use Px5. I know the 2 -> 5 was a size jump, but I don’t recall the Nx 6 being small.

The 2 to 5 size jump is only really because there’s no top or bottom bezel and the screen extends all the way to the top/bottom edges. The width is within a few mm and the body width/height is also within a few mm. I got tricked thinking I was gonna get the same size and now my fingers hurt from the back button being that much lower. At least in lineage I can set the hole punch setting to crop the top of the display (adding a black bar to the top of the screen where the camera is) so I don’t have to reach too high for notifications. It’s a shame there’s no setting to crop the bottom of the screen too.

Nexus 6 was beautiful. And the curved back made it comfortable to hold and turned it into a fun spinny toy on the table. Best design ever.

I actually meant the nexus 5. The 6 was way too big. The 5 had a rubber body or something so it didn’t feel slippery as fuck, and you didn’t need a case

The Nexus 6 was 15mm taller, 13mm wider and 2mm thicker, all while having a slightly smaller screen and weighing 35 grams more. How is that better?
