I’ve read many posts asking users to download Firefox but when a noob like me goes to google play store, it shows Firefox collects user activity, location and other data but for Brave it says that Brave doesn’t collect any data or share any data. A company like google must do a thorough investigation before putting an app of their play store. Experts who hold degree in computer science, data science etc and are privacy advocates please explain me why not to use Brave?
I‘m not too much into this drama but something about crypto stuff getting pushed by the makers. Otherwise, firefox just works well. Everything else you need to wait for other comments or use a search engine.

It’s a valid choice, if it’s an informed choice. I recommend privacy guides to look at the trade off of the various options.
It’s got a lot of downsides, compared to the better options, but if you need a chromium-based browser it’s viable
Google doesnt do a thorough investigation, they just expect a privacy policy to exist.
As for why to not use Brave, they have had a string of questionable decisions, like automatically inserting affiliate links and their crypto stuff, which turn me off, but you are free to make your own mind up there.
Ultimately, if the browser is free, the company is making money somehow. Firefox/Mozilla are openly take Googles money for search priority, what is Brave doing to make money?
You can read what data Firefox collects within the play store itself. Firstly, everything is optional and thus can be turned off to make it on par with Brave. Secondly, some of the things they collect are genuinely useful, like crash logs and diagnostics.
