We have those things already they’re called vending machines. Japan has so many of them and each office has one for coffe too. It’s nothing new.

Why are you so confrontational? You seem to have misunderstood what I wrote. I wrote that we already have the machines the article is talking about and they didn’t really take over peoples jobs because they’re not good enough and especially in bars it’s not about just mixing the liquids together it’s about the human who is talking to you.

Sorry, it sounded like you were saying those jobs weren’t necessary because vending machines exist. My apologies.

I suspect that some casinos will trial software replacements for people - much how self checkout stations have replaced cashiers in many stores - you dont have to pay a machine, it works 24x7, and requires no benefits/insurance. really just improves their bottom line.

Casinos are already 90% slot machines. I’m sure a majority of their profit comes from people’s nans sitting at the machine mindlessly pressing a button blowing five hundred dollars in under an hour. Meanwhile, the “classic” casino games (blackjack, roulette, craps, poker, baccarat, sports betting) I’m sure make comparatively little profit despite being orders of magnitude more fun, IMO. If I’m going to blow a few hundred dollars at the casino I’d much rather blow it on blackjack and hookers roulette rather than playing an expensive video game.

Don’t worry, “AI” isn’t being used to get rid of those jobs. It’s being used to get rid of jobs that pay and get you out of slavery. That’s why artists are worried. Nurses and doctors should be worried. I haven’t heard of any AI bus boy. Heck, we’ve been expecting McDonald’s to get rid of people in place of robots for years and it doesn’t seem to happen. However, personal assistants? That’s a thing of the past. Teachers? They’re all gonna get canned.

What? McDonald’s has been replacing people for several years with technology. You used to walk into McDonalds and there would be multiple cash registers with a person behind it. Now, I rarely walk into one that has more than one register and I see more and more kiosks you can order from inside.

They have an app where you can place an order, you simply drive up and tell them you ordered through the app, and they get your food. That app literally replaced the person that would have taken their order.
