Against Duolingo as a language learning platform

Up until last week, I would still have recommended Duolingo for language learners for beginner’s material, but now I can no longer do so.

In this blog post the author tells us their own experience with the platform and why people might want to consider picking another language elsewhere. I’m not a Duolingo user myself but the disappointment with a proprietary platform doesn’t come surprising to me and probably the most of Lemmy users
