Cornell: Small Nations and Great Powers: A Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict in the Caucasus. I can’t guarantee the quality or that there’s no reflexive anticommunism, but it seems quite long and goes into the Chechen autonomous rebel armies which were anti-Soviet during WW2.
