Brighton signed Moises Caicedo from Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle for £4.5m in 2021; the 21-year-old is now valued at around £100m by the south-coast club; Brighton rejected two bids for the midfielder from Arsenal in January, the biggest of which was £70m
I really hope the Brighton scouts are cooking up a good replacement. I loved watching De Zerbi’s football last season but Caicedo is going to be so hard to replace.
Brighton has done so well replacing players that I don’t think it will be a problem. De Zerbi did amazing last year and I can’t wait to watch Brighton this upcoming year.
While true, they haven’t had a player like Caicedo before, either. Bissouma was never as good as him, and that player profile is not the most common. I trust the scouts and data analysts at Brighton, I just worry there won’t be an adequate option even available. Caicedo was the lynchpin of that team, his importance can’t really be overstated.
By comparison I’m not worried about replacing Mac Allister at all. Yes, he was a great player, but people overrate him a bit and technical playmakers are a dime a dozen, especially in the BHA scouting teams favourite hunting ground of South America.

Sounds like it’s time to bring Dale Stephens out of retirement
