For me, Lemmy is a place where ideas can be discussed, and not automatically downvoted into oblivion because it may challenge the conventional wisdom, and that’s what Reddit used to be too.
I came here from Reddit and have found this to not be true at all. Contrary opinions are just downvoted to oblivion same as they were on reddit. People use the downvote as a disagree button instead of what it’s meant for.
