If they decide to remove mods to reopen subreddits, they will have an issue of no mods to run it. So they will ask for volunteers. The ones that do come forward after all that happened are likely not the ones you want as mods.

I took a torch to my 10+ year old account and replaced every post and comment with giberish so it is of no value to them before I left. Not going back.

if you search Google now, reddit is one of the top results because of the community. Not because of what the company provided. Its because of us.
I don’t think what they are doing is right. Others may not feel the same and that is ok as well.
But we can all agree that the consequences for the company is of their own making, and as usual the community suffers all around.
I’m not happy with their decision, I think they should work with the third party apps to have an special billing API for them. I get the point that they are a company and they want to make money but it’s so stupid to think that the platform means everything. It’s a symbiosis between people and platform and they should not think that without community Reddit will be the same.
