Hello,

So in my room there is, unfortunately, no ethernet port, only a telephone port. However, I want to move my pc into my room. So, is there a way? Maybe a telephone-to-ethernet adapter? I have no clue with these things, any and all help is appreciated.

p.s. Will the internet speed be lower?

You need 4 pair and you also need to know where the other end of the connection is. If it goes straight outside to a telephone demark, it doesn’t do you a lot of good. If it goes to a patch panel somewhere else in the house then it can probably be repurposed.

You can’t adapt it, but you can check the back side of the outlet. If it uses a Cat5e or better cable, and there are no daisy chained wired to it, you may be able to. Once you confirm that, you’ll of course need to find where the other end goes to as that would have to go to your router/switch.

Possible if the existing phone cable has 2 pairs. It may get u 100Mbps at most.
