Hey!

Im not very clued up on these things so bare with me 😊

My main router is in my living room (no other options for placement), and I game on console upstairs. The console and the router are on opposite sides of the house. I find that my wireless connection to my Xbox is often terrible when playing and want to improve it.

Given the distance between router and console, using an Ethernet cable isn’t really an option, and therefore my question is what would be the next best option to improve gaming speeds?

Thanks!

I know people on this sub don’t like them, But I used flat ethernet cables to allow me to put an access point (mesh nodes in my case) at each end of my house on the ground floor. They are much easier to route under carpets or around the edges of the walls and through door ways.

Meaning that the upstairs wifi devices generally only have to go through the floor rather than brick walls or chimney breasts and is a much better experience for my family.
