    There won’t be any real (legal/financial) consequences for them, so there won’t be any real changes from them. 🤷

      They got good PR from their pledge. No penalty for ignoring it.

      Same as the IPCC meetings.

    Shell is a petrol company doing petrol company things. They have absolutely no interest in cutting down on carbon emissions. It’s all green washing.

    So they met a 20% reduction in production target just by selling off part of their business. Seems like a technicality rather than an actual reduction. That sold off business will still be producing oil and gas, it’s just somebody else’s problem now.
