I like the songs and its vibe/soul when listening Taylor Swiftā€™s early albums.

Whether those are country or pop or teen or love songs, I really (and still) get hooked by:

  1. its simple melodies (but not so colorful but at least appreciative),
  2. its simple sounds/instruments (but not so magnificent but at least interesting),
  3. and its really awesome lyrics and its story by her.
  4. and of course her voice (not so astounding nor distinct but at least very good)

So, her songs has really influenced my musical preference especially when growing up.

So now,

despite maybe because Iā€™m already adult or because Iā€™m not well anymore gathering new music,

Iā€™m still looking for new music/song/album or new/current other music artists with that kind such as hersā€”

ā€”as I hardly create for myself my playlist of current (at least 2020-present) music. Of course, I want a diversity of awesome and beautiful music (rock, alternative, grunge, urban or ā€œRNBā€ such as Ne-Yo, disco and soft and so more). But I havenā€™t been amazed/hooked by the current music Iā€™m receiving/hearing anywhere today. I have tried to keep listening those from the charts, mainstream playlists or most mentioned artists, yet I havenā€™t been amazed like how I did by Taylorā€™s despite Iā€™m not really a fan of her.

So if you could introduce someone to me to search, Are there any other ā€œnewā€ music or new/current artists with that kind such as hers (artists likely endorsed by her as I already consider her a great artist)?

It does not really have to be so much similar to her songs (so it can be grunge, ballad or urban). Iā€™m referring to the ā€œvibe/soul/somewhat-acting-as-if-I-musically-feel-that-thereā€™s-a-drama-scene-or-personality/sound/something I canā€™t clearly describe sorryā€ upon the songs that sheā€™s singing/playing.

So to understand what Iā€™m referring to, here are selected current songs I like and still keep playing are:

  1. ā€œUntil I Found Youā€ by Stephen Sanchez (way mostly among the current ones, Iā€™m single šŸ˜‰ btwā€”what I mean is that song is a sentimental love song for rejoicing love couples, and I felt attached even I donā€™t have a girlfriend.)
  2. ā€œHere With Meā€ by d4vd (becoming less frequently)
  3. ā€œSparkā€ by Ed Sheeran (becoming less frequently)
  4. ā€œFoolish Oneā€ by Taylor Swift
  5. ā€œVampireā€ by Olive Rodrigo (Iā€™m not sure as Iā€™m getting hooked right now) 6 ā€œSay Soā€ by Doja Cat (becoming less frequently)
  6. ā€¦ Thatā€™s it I can fondly recall. I have tried to think from 2020 farther. But thatā€™s it I bravely mentioned.

I will just bravely mention some (too much so 22) selected (ouch-old/past) popular songs that I straight recall and like and songs that I keep mesmerizing and playing in my repeating playlist (just to reveal partially at least and hint my preference):

  1. ā€œSo Sickā€ by Neyo
  2. ā€œJust the Way You Areā€ and ā€œIt Will Rainā€ by Bruno Mars
  3. ā€œThinking Out Loudā€ by Ed Sheeran
  4. ā€œChasing Pavementsā€ by Adele
  5. ā€œYour Guardian Angelā€ by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (And I miss those rock songs)
  6. ā€œBad Dayā€ by Daniel Powter
  7. ā€œThis Loveā€ and ā€œI Wonā€™t Go Home Without Youā€ by Maroon 5 (also miss hearing such kind)
  8. ā€œComplicatedā€ and ā€œIā€™m With Youā€ by Avril Lavigne
  9. ā€œTwo Less Lonely People in the Worldā€ and ā€œEven the Nights Are Betterā€ and ā€œHere I Amā€ by Air Supply (one of artist I like most)
  10. ā€œIf You Asked Me Toā€ and ā€œI Love Youā€ by Celine Dion
  11. ā€œAge Ainā€™t Nothing But a Numberā€ by Aaliyah (I just ignore its unwanted lyrics.)
  12. ā€œYouā€™re My Inspirationā€ by Chicago (I like listening other songs similar to this another kind)
  13. ā€œNever Forget Youā€ and ā€œAlways Be My Babyā€ by Mariah Carey (Iā€™m a real fan)
  14. ā€œGonna Get Along Without You Nowā€ by Skeeter Davis
  15. ā€œLoverā€™s Moonā€ and ā€œThe One You Loveā€ by Glenn Frey
  16. ā€œTake A Bowā€ and ā€œUnfaithfulā€ by Rihanna
  17. ā€œSometimesā€ by Britney Spears
  18. ā€œDonā€™t Say You Love Meā€ and ā€œOld Town @ MTVā€ by the Corrs
  19. ā€œI Will Always Love Youā€ by Dolly Parton (more than Whitney)
  20. ā€œIā€™m Saving All My Love For Youā€ by Whitney Houston
  21. ā€œKiss Meā€ and ā€œDonā€™t Dream Itā€™s Overā€ by Sixpence None The Richer
  22. ā€œWhen Youā€™re Goneā€ and ā€œZombieā€ by The Cranberries
  23. ā€¦ of course many more and more but I will just stop here.

Iā€™d be also interested but Iā€™m terrible at finding new music. My only great choice you already have and thatā€™s Olivia Rodrigo, I definitely think sheā€™s the punk evolution of Taylor for sure. I need to get on a music service and start branching out more.

Iā€™m having a marathon (in my free and chill time) to Olivia Rodrigoā€™s music because Iā€™m getting hooked by her latest song ā€œVampireā€ just like how I got hooked by ā€œDriverā€™s Licenseā€ and ā€œDeja vuā€.

itā€™s hard to say I like it, as itā€™s still fresh as of now, so let me see few months later. But to understand my criteria, I still listen to ā€œUntil I Found Youā€ by Stephen Sanchez even this week, after I discovered it last November. So, I definitely like his song, one of the few songs I like in the present since 2020 that I put in my repeating playlists.

I have been obsessed with Vampire, itā€™s so damn catchy and I canā€™t get it out of my head. i was hesitant to be excited for Guts because a lot of times artists go in their own heads and canā€™t pull off album 2, but this time it sounds like itā€™s going to be out of the park

And now, while having my Oliviaā€™s music marathon still, thereā€™s already Billie Eilishā€™s new song ā€œWhat I Was Made For?ā€. Good treats maybe are coming!!!

I feel like it got buried by releasing on the same day as Midnights but the vibe of The Loneliest Time by Carly Rae Jepsen has a rather similar vibe to Taylorā€™s and in fact her whole song writing career probably would appeal to a lot of Taylor fans. Especially the Emotion, Dedicated albums and The Loneliest Time.

i cannot describe in words the picture i get from this list, but i do get a picture. here are some other things iā€™d have tried on the other walls. most of these arenā€™t their most recent but have stylistic similarities

    • crowded house self-title: includes the song ā€˜donā€™t dream itā€™s overā€™ that might be the original version of one you cite above; it seems as popular a cover as ā€˜just like heavenā€™
    • you might like mandy mooreā€™s latest ā€˜in real lifeā€™, very a much a ā€˜who mandy grew intoā€™ album
    • or sabrina carpenterā€™s first album, ā€˜eyes wide openā€™, a very ingĆ©nue and almost pop-country album - i thought she might go in that direction and proved very wrong
    • or ariana grandeā€™s ā€˜sweetenerā€™, though youā€™ll likely already have heard that
    • or foxesā€™ album ā€˜gloriousā€™
    • or little mix - try the tracks ā€˜little meā€™, ā€˜competitionā€™, ā€˜always be togetherā€™ or ā€˜towersā€™
    • or gabriella cilmiā€™s ā€˜lessons to be learnedā€™ album, which youā€™ll either love or hate, canā€™t tell
    • or dj encoreā€™s ā€˜uniqueā€™ for something a little more electronic but still very emotional
    • or the tracks ā€˜see the dayā€™ or ā€˜whole lotta historyā€™ by girls aloud
    • or sleepthiefā€™s cover version of berlinā€™s ā€˜the metroā€™, and if you like that, the whole ā€˜dawnseekerā€™ album
    • surely youā€™re familiar with leann rimesā€™s ā€˜how do i liveā€™ and ā€˜i will love againā€™, which i know from lara fabianā€™s version
    • for good mexican power ballads, jennifer peƱaā€™s ā€˜vivo y muero en tu pielā€™ or belindaā€™s ā€˜sal de mi pielā€™

just a few things that tumble out of my ā€˜mass hysteriaā€™ playlist

Thanks for this. I will try to listen at least (Iā€™m getting plenty of music suggestions from everyone to listen hahaha I might make feedbacks here probably next 2-3 months depending how serious Iā€™ll be analyzing while song repeatingā€”comeback soon hahaha šŸ˜…)

I know very selected songs from Sabrina Carpenter because of my little sibling playing on stereo. No idea of her first album.

Arianaā€™s ā€œSweetenerā€ Album is ā€œgod is a womanā€ and ā€œno tears left to cryā€ (I never got truly hooked by both on that time long ago, but I will try to listen the whole album you suggested.)

I have heard Foxesā€™ name but I believe I heard one song of her but I donā€™t know the tile.

Anyways thanks and I appreciate this and Iā€™m enjoying knowing artist names suggested by everyonešŸ˜„.
