The movie was absolutely atrocious. They had to turn the biologist and her husband into rah rah military heroes because of course they did, the “DNA prism” thing gave me cancer, and the ending with the fucking grenade and the Crawler gave me double extra super cancer.

It was a soulless cash grab that was made to look pretty and not challenge the viewer at all. The mystery and wonder of the first book was completely amputated and replaced with jingoism and an idiotic “explanation” for Area X, and topped off with a violent “solution” to the Crawler
