I’m still not sure how that fits here though. The religion thing is secondary to the chicken sandwiches. No one dislikes CZ purely because of his beliefs, but directly because of his business. It would only work as a comparison if the chicken sandwiches were the pseudo-currency of a criminal enterprise and a way to get money out of people with the promise of a chicken sandwich that you wouldn’t see, but were assured that with each passing moment, your chicken sandwich investment would yield an ever-increasing supply of chicken sandwiches in perpetuity.
Most people would support a Chic Fil A boycott if the owner was known to be a health code opponent or purposefully created unsafe food or something like that.
In the same way you don’t want the bank CEO to be running a Ponzi scheme.
