The U.S. has destroyed the last of its declared chemical weapons stockpile, President Joe Biden said on Friday, bringing to an end a decades-long effort to eliminate the deadly weapons first used on a large scale in World War One.
The timing is so close, it has to be related. Like they decided to send the cluster munitions and then someone had to go look for things to make the non-neocons happy.
Did I miss the memo where the US government can only do one thing at a time? Or are they switching to a Civilization style turn based strategy where this turn we sent cluster munitions and we have to wait until next turn to get rid of chemical weapons?
By design. The PR/Propaganda machine works as intended. I’ve got military and government family and lots of stuff happens so quickly, but people don’t hear about the background stuff and military stuff is definitely much more hush hush than other sectors.

The pace at which the government usually moves feels more like TBS than RTS to me.

The fact that they can do so many things at a time makes it all the more coincidental when two related things get announced on the same day.
