Just came here from reddit, making my first post. I played NMS last year for about 40hrs then kind of lost interest. Starfield looks a lot like NMS, but with a lot more content and action. Is anyone going to be trying it out?

Hope leads me to excitement for this game.

Historical precedence reminds me that it will be over-hyped and under-delivered.

Hell yes. Is it going to be buggy as fuck? I’ll be amazed if it isn’t. There are sure to be people who pick and find fault but as with almost all Bethesda games, it’ll be a solid RPG.

I played Fallout 4 before any of the others in the series and really enjoyed it. Same with Mass Effect, played Andromeda first and really enjoyed it… sometimes critical reception can go a bit overboard highlighting what’s wrong, especially when people have a strong preconceived idea of what it should be like based on past iterations.

The game being on game pass makes an easy pick up for me. But if I consider buying on steam I’ll wait until the game releases first

The pitch for Starfield seems to be Mass Effect inside an NMS-sized world. If they can pull it off, count me in. Assuming my system specs are up to the challenge.

I am likely going to play it as I have played most of their games but I’m going to wait a bit. Not in a rush. Let some of the bugs get fixed. I just got back into NMS after not having a computer for the past 3 years. Game looks great on my new one. So much more to do than when I last played.

Yep! I’ll be adding Starfield to my rotation. It may or may not become my main game for a while. It all depends on how good and interesting it will be. So far, I like what I see!

I’m waiting to see what stance Bethesda takes on mods first. No Bethesda game is complete without mods, and if they force mtx for mods, then I don’t think I’ll buy it personally.

I’ll wait for the reviews for Starfield before I decide if I purchase the game. Bethesda has a rocky history with new game launches, I usually wait at least 6 months before buying one of their games. So at least it will be patched enough to be playable without game breaking issues…

I definitely plan to, though probably not on day one. I have a feeling that it will probably be really buggy at first, both because it’s Bethesda, and because it looks really ambitious feature-wise, so will probably need a while iron out the worst bugs. Also I play on Linux, so will need to use the Proton compatibility layer which might not work perfectly at first.

I love NMS though, and have over 1600 hrs. in it. NMS has a charm, and aesthetic vibe that seems quite different to what I have seen of Starfield, so I don’t think it will replace NMS for me, I plan to play both.

I mean 40 hours is a lot of time in any game when you think about it. I just got into NMS a few days ago and loving it so far.

Starfield looks interesting but I can just tell from their showcase that it’s just NMS, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous but with Bethesda style quests. The fact that all of the interactions that you will have on the planets will be procedurally generated does not make any sense to me. You won’t be able to share an interesting discovery with your friends because everybody’s interactions are unique.

Gonna be janky AF but without all
