    How would he have the power to do that in 2024? Even if he won the election, he wouldn’t take office until 2025. What the fuck is this headline?

    Could be a great opportunity to boost European defence.

    Time to replace US military bases by European ones, and time for France to look more at east and for Poland to look more at south

      No country in Europe can agree, nor afford to do everything the US currently does across the globe and especially across Europe. It would be an actual shit show what you are saying you want to happen.

      Not while the EU isn’t federated and a single fascist like Orban can blockade the capacity to act.

      Also, it’s too expensive. The US can afford it because they don’t really pay for it: as the USD is the reserve currency of everyone else, and as oil is traded in USD, everyone pays for their military through inflation. The Euro isn’t in the same position.
