X (Twitter) to soon begin charging $1 annual subscription in order to tweet and interact.

Next move must be to charge users deleting their accounts $1. And Elon can sell your data to make more money.

and then the capitalism admirers: “I don’t have problem to pay for a good service. What do you people think? Isn’t it costly to run a good service?”

$1 a year for a service you enjoy and use is fine, especially if it leads to a decrease in bots and trolls.

It will absolutely decrease bots. What credit cards are they going to pay with? 1 card per bot? Where are the bot farms getting all these credit cards?

Oh you have no idea how easy it is to create extra credit card numbers or buy gift cards. Regular people do this all the time to prevent giving websites their real credit card info. Regular people aren’t going to start paying for a social media site that was free for 17 years. They’ll move elsewhere or quit using it.

As it is now, most spammers I’ve run across on Twitter have blue checkmarks. They’re already paying.

It’s a barrier to entry and it has been proven to work.

I’ve not seen any spammers and bots with blue ticks.
