They always require an email or phone number so they can sell it to similar businesses. Enter to win a new car? Everyone who sells cars and ANYTHING related to them now knows you’re interested in cars. A free cruise? Congratulations! Every travel agency (yeah, I guess they actually still exist) knows that you’re looking for deal on a getaway.
